Retaining systems used for the securing (limiting the axial movement) of conical picks in tool holder may be divided into two groups: internal and external. The first group includes clip rings and sleeves. The second group involves snap rings and lock rings. QuickSnap retaining system used in drum cutters also belongs to external retainers.
